Artist’s Statement

What I always like about art is the accidental effects that come out of it- the spontaneous factor. Frankly I never plan my work hand in hand, because the process of thinking is never ending as my imagination is running wild. In a moment a new idea will emerge from my mind from there I would improvise my artwork to the point that I’m satisfied with it. Therefore, I wouldn’t limit myself as there are no boundaries in what I am trying to reach for the audience to see.

From every issue related to Effects of Global warming, I expand the ideas into creating artwork that is created from those useful material or non harmful waste materials. Hence, for the bag series I used the excessive canvas from my previous artwork. From then on I turn it to an environment friendly bag which I’ve collaged and patched with many kinds paper, plastic, and textiles.

The reason why I have chosen to use the images of the animals and the map is because I want the audience to notice that our nature is in dying need of help and care. Sea level is constantly rising and some of the countries will be affected by this global catastrophic, their land will be sunk by the water that is melted from the Arctic. Animals would be endangered as they can’t protect themselves from this phenomenon. Regarding the bag, I would like to stress that the bag can be used in your daily routine, it’s not like your typical artwork. It is not meant to be exhibit on the wall; it is a moving artwork which also carries a meaningful message.
